Muertos
Here is the rest of the process for the dia de los muertos piece:
Once I finished the machinework I needed to so something to the background to bring forward the skull.
Black brought it further forward and I started to go in and outline the machinework.
Add some black to sink the eyes a bit more and finish outlining all of the mechanations and I decided to call it done. I should get it back from the printshop today. I'll have 5" x 7"for $12, 8" x 10" for $20 and the original size 11" x 14" for $30. Let me know if you're interested and I'll make it happen.

Dia de Los...
Today was a great day. I am working on a Dia de Los Muertos machine for the upcoming holiday and below you will find some process photos. I'm off to Raleigh tomorrow, so I hope to finish it on Friday.
Beginnings
Today will mark the first day that I work in my new studio space at painting. It is not entirely finished, but it is perfect for my needs.

Old Fort Painting Contest
On Wednesday this week I travelled to Old Fort to participate in a plein air painting contest. Plein air basically means painting out in the open what you see. Thanks to Britt and Elizabeth for showing me some amazing spots. Sorry but the images are jumbled because I'm blogging from my phone.

Studio A-Go-Go
My dad and my brother and I have been working up a storm lately. Here are some shots, if they are out of order it's because I'm blogging from my phone.

New Work: Studio Building
Stated building with my dad on Sunday. Poured footers, set 6 x 6 posts and attached rim joists. Gotta get dad to keep his fingers off the lens on my phone.

My New Friend Joe
Today I met a gem of a fella. He lives, for only a little while longer, in Fairview and today he sold me my new kiln. He also sold me a menagerie of other awesome bits and pieces that will set me off on the best foot towards having my own studio.
Thanks again Joe and I'll look forward to seeing you again soon.

New Pots
This week...well, two days this week I hit the pottery studio pretty hard. The best part is how much fun it was.
